About My Practice

Humble Beginnings
My name is Maybelle, but you can call me Beng. I’ve been practicing yoga since 2013, when I was working in the BPO industry and needed an outlet to relieve stress. I remember getting immediately hooked after my very first class, even though flexibility was definitely a challenge for me back then.
One hard lesson I have learned as I flowed my way into my own yoga practice is that one can only appreciate the beauty of things when open-mindedness is at hand. As I continued practicing, yoga became more than just a physical practice. It became a journey of getting to know myself, becoming more aware, and learning the many lessons that unfold both on and off the mat.
Over the years, I’ve experienced changes not only physically, but mentally, emotionally, and spiritually as well. I love practicing beginner to intermediate Vinyasa, Power, and Yin Yoga, and I’ve also enjoyed exploring other styles such as Hot Yoga, Aerial, Acro Yoga, and Ashtanga. My love for the practice eventually led me to share what I’ve learned with others, especially beginners, and to help them discover just how beautiful and transformative yoga can be.
In October 2018, I completed my yoga teacher training in Bali, Indonesia, with Leah Sugerman of Nomad Yoga in Yoga Dunia Lembongan. During my training, I studied Hatha, Vinyasa, Restorative and Yin Yoga, as well as Meditation and Pranayama. I’ve also attended various workshops with teachers in the Philippines, including Veer Rana and Jaya Indra, focusing on inversions, alignment, and Acro Yoga. My curiosity about the therapeutic aspects of the practice also led me to study MyoYin through workshops with Jo Phee and Nicki Hadjithoma.
Over time, my love for yoga grew from simply wanting to improve myself into a desire to share the practice with others. I especially feel called to support those who are just beginning their journey—to remind them that yoga isn’t about how flexible or experienced you are, but about meeting yourself exactly where you are.
For two years, I immersed myself in life in Bali, deepening my yoga and meditation practice while exploring the vast and beautiful world of Bhakti Yoga and Kirtan. This experience brought me to a beautiful full-circle moment, where two of my deepest passions—yoga and music—began to intertwine.
Through my experiences with Kirtan and my therapeutic approach to yoga, I found a beautiful common ground between movement, stillness, sound, and devotion. I feel deeply connected to life, love, and the Divine through the energy and frequencies of Yin, sacred mantras, and the human voice.
Today, I bring all of these practices together in the way I teach and share. My intention is to create spaces where people can slow down, reconnect with themselves, open their hearts, and find a little more balance, presence, and bliss along the way.
Hope to see you on the mat!
